Valdomiro Rossi came out of the goal and Lulcho Krústev tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rony Peixoto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angelo Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Galo MG getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Osi Modell hit a great ball. In the 6th minute of the match Tales Pinheiro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rony Peixoto skillfully saved the ball. In the 9th match minute, Galo MG was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lulcho Krústev to maneuver through the defense. Rony Peixoto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Angelo Azevedo's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Rony Peixoto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Gustavo Maciel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rony Peixoto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alan Baiano, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 22nd minute Luís Gustavo Maciel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rony Peixoto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lulcho Krústev made a kick off. Bruno Senna kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Luís Gustavo Maciel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rey de Copas's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Gustavo Maciel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rony Peixoto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Angelo Azevedo struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Rony Peixoto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rey de Copas. Rony Peixoto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Angelo Azevedo in the 66th minute. 67 minutes into the game, one of Galo MG:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Tales Pinheiro shot the penalty kick right outside the post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Gustavo Maciel in the 78th minute of play forced Galo MG's goalkeeper Rony Peixoto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Galo MG's Rony Peixoto got control of the ball when Angelo Azevedo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lulcho Krústev kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Rey de Copas's Angelo Azevedo got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 88 played minutes Galo MG got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Senna. Rey de Copas played a much better game than Galo MG and deserved their victory. The Galo MG players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
