Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Aluísio Proença got the match started through his kick off. Cláudio Tepedino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aluísio Proença fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Pedro Pereira having to interfere. Adrianinho Tróia struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. José Pedro Pereira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Catigua FC. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cláudio Tepedino got free with José Pedro Pereira in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. José Pedro Pereira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aluísio Proença's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. If Aluísio Proença had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 16 minutes into the match, Cláudio Tepedino notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Gaucha's José Pedro Pereira. José Pedro Pereira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. José Pedro Pereira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cláudio Tepedino in the 20th minute. 22 minutes into the match, Gaucha's goal looked a bit too open when Aluísio Proença came free, but José Pedro Pereira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cláudio Tepedino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but José Pedro Pereira made a huge save. 26 minutes into the game, Valério Pires was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Catigua FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gaucha the free kick. After 25 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Catigua FC! The referee gave Gaucha a penalty, 27 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Mário Costa, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Catigua FC's Bernardo Bastos. 1-1. Aluísio Proença blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without José Pedro Pereira having to make a save. Aluísio Proença fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Pedro Pereira having to interfere. Aluísio Proença sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Júnior Mattos during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 44th minute, Júnior Mattos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Catigua FC's Aluísio Proença got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Marcelo Souto made the kick off in the second half. Aluísio Proença fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Pedro Pereira having to interfere. José Pedro Pereira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aluísio Proença, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Cláudio Tepedino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Pedro Pereira having to interfere. Aluísio Proença sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cesinha Queiroz took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised José Pedro Pereira. José Pedro Pereira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Aluísio Proença fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Pedro Pereira having to interfere. After 80 played minutes Gaucha got a freekick which was hit by Júnior Mattos. 82 minutes into the game, Catigua FC's Cláudio Tepedino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. José Pedro Pereira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. José Pedro Pereira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aluísio Proença went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aluísio Proença in the 98th minute of play forced Gaucha's goalkeeper José Pedro Pereira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee ended the match the Catigua FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
