In the 24th minute, Armindo Mattos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Arejas FC booed when santos f.c was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simão Braga didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 30 played minutes, Arejas FC's Sidnei Fantini shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Baltazar Rocha came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Arejas FC reached it. Baltazar Rocha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armindo Mattos, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 39th minute, Deivid Novaes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 41st match minute, Arejas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sidnei Fantini to maneuver through the defense. Mateus Dionísio, 42 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Dedé Freire's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Haroldo Leão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. If Cássio Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 47 minutes into the match, Arejas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dedé Freire came free, but Haroldo Leão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Armindo Mattos to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cássio Paraibano in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Haroldo Leão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Haroldo Leão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dedé Freire, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Luiz Paulo Miranda charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. When Deivid Novaes fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arejas FC's protests and gave Deivid Novaes a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Arejas FC's Deivid Novaes got a free kick in the 85th minute. santos f.c's Mateus Dionísio couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 86th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Arejas FC. Dedé Freire fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Haroldo Leão having to interfere. The santos f.c supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Arejas FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Arejas FC.
