Copacabana's Juan Lima played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugo Vianna in the 20th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Copacabana's goal looked a bit too open when João Carlos Pirani came free, but Juan Lima reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, Juventus Football Club's João Carlos Pirani sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Juan Lima narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jano de Barros blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Juan Lima having to make a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling João Carlos Pirani in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juan Lima prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 34th minute Jano de Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Lima saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 37 minutes into the game, when Cláudio Quirino put in a rough tackle. The referee gave Juventus Football Club a penalty, 38 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by João Carlos Pirani, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Copacabana's Juan Lima. 2-3. Juan Lima took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Carlos Pirani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 43 minutes into the match, João Carlos Pirani notched a goal, 2-4, to the right of Copacabana's Juan Lima. Juan Lima was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half Juventus Football Club were leading 2-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Hugo Vianna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Copacabana's Walmir Matos got a free kick in the 60th minute. 64 minutes into the game, Ramón Hames was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Copacabana's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Juventus Football Club the free kick. Hugo Vianna struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Juan Lima didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Juventus Football Club. With a little luck, Copacabana's Juan Lima got control of the ball when João Carlos Pirani tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sandro de Godoy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Hugo Vianna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claudinho Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Fausto Donato tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fausto Donato took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinho Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. João Carlos Pirani's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 82ndth minute, Juan Lima skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Juan Lima came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Juventus Football Club's Sandro de Godoy. But to his dismay, Sandro de Godoy quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-7. João Carlos Pirani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Jano de Barros came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Juventus Football Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jano de Barros couldn't finish the play. In the 89th minute, Walmir Matos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Américo Hames struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Juan Lima didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Juventus Football Club. João Carlos Piranis short, quick shot in the 97thth minute got Juan Lima to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Juventus Football Club played a much better game than Copacabana and deserved their victory. The Copacabana players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
