The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Luizinho Severo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yuri Saldanha in the 7th minute of the match. 10 minutes into the match, Facao AD's goal looked a bit too open when Giuseppe Pirani came free, but Luizinho Severo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guilherme Queiroz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Guilherme Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cauan Massa having to interfere. In the 24th minute, Norberto Ferreira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Guilherme Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cauan Massa made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Norberto Ferreira sent off a good shot on target. Jeremias Sena kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Facao AD's Jeremias Sena got his second yellow card of the match in the 32nd minute. The referee ordered Jeremias Sena off the ground. The supporters of Algodoal FC booed when Facao AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeremias Sena didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Algodoal FC's Giuseppe Pirani in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Algodoal FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Giuseppe Pirani was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luizinho Severo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 46 played minutes Facao AD got a freekick which was hit by Hamílton Travassos. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Norberto Ferreira made the kick off in the second half. Algodoal FC's Yuri Saldanha got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 53 minutes into the match, Hamílton Travassos notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Algodoal FC's Cauan Massa. Cauan Massa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Norberto Ferreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cauan Massa having to interfere. Guilherme Queiroz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Cauan Massa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 63rd match minute, Algodoal FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kaká Simão to maneuver through the defense. In the 66th minute Norberto Ferreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cauan Massa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Giuseppe Pirani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 71 minutes into the game, Hamílton Travassos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Facao AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Algodoal FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Facao AD's Hamílton Travassos got a free kick in the 71st minute. After 74 minutes Facao AD's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Vágner Paraibano who took care of the corner kick. If Giuseppe Pirani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Facao AD's Hamílton Travassos got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Facao AD booed when Algodoal FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agnaldo Pombal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Facao AD were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
