Alfredo Moreira started the match with the kick off. If Alfredo Moreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 9th minute, Valério Marques hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Flávio Sarmento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Moreira in the 10th minute of the match. Fabiano do Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Flávio Sarmento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Orizona's Flávio Sarmento proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Orizona from getting a goal against them. 15 minutes into the match, Orizona's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredo Moreira came free, but Flávio Sarmento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute, Ricardo Galvão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Orizona's Lúcio Borges got a free kick in the 19th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Samuel Cruz got free with Flávio Sarmento in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fabiano do Nascimento blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Flávio Sarmento having to make a save. 27 minutes into the game, Alfredo Moreira lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Flávio Sarmento. Curriola's Alfredo Moreira got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 42 minutes into the match, Orizona's goalkeeper Flávio Sarmento had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fabiano do Nascimento. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ricardo Galvão was the one to do the kick off. Róbson Barros came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Orizona's Ricardo Galvão. But to his dismay, Ricardo Galvão quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Benjamim Abraão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alfredo Moreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flávio Sarmento having to interfere. When Valério Marques was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 61 minutes had been played. Valério Marques hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Moreira in the 66th minute of play forced Orizona's goalkeeper Flávio Sarmento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 67 minutes into the match, Orizona's goal looked a bit too open when Fabiano do Nascimento came free, but Flávio Sarmento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 67 minutes into the match, Fabiano do Nascimento had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Flávio Sarmento. Orizona's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fabiano do Nascimento was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Nilmar Severo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Róbson Barros having to interfere. Flávio Sarmento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Moreira in the 78th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Fabiano do Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot. Curriola's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabiano do Nascimento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Flávio Sarmento breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fabiano do Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felipe Bueno charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Felipe Bueno the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Felipe Bueno hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Flávio Sarmento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Moreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. The supporters of Orizona booed when Curriola was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giovanni Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nilmar Severo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Róbson Barros having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Curriola fans cheered their team off the field, for while Orizona had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
