Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Hernani Félix started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Anísio Tavares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oséias Aguiar, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. 5 minutes into the match, Curituba AD's goal looked a bit too open when Hernani Félix came free, but Anísio Tavares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 9th minute, Oséias Aguiar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hernani Félix's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anísio Tavares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Cuiabazinho's Gonçalo Catarinense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nando Teixeira in the 14th minute of play. Gonçalo Catarinense was a little too slow when Nando Teixeira got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 18th minute. The score was now 1-0. 21 minutes into the game, Nando Teixeira recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gonçalo Catarinense. Nando Teixeira showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. 27 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cuiabazinho's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Chicão Netto was slow to take the kick. During this time Curituba AD's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Chicão Netto almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Cuiabazinho's Gonçalo Catarinense did a great save. The audience cheered when Chicão Netto's long shot passed Gonçalo Catarinense's right side. It was 3-0, 28 minutes into the match. Anísio Tavares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oséias Aguiar's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. In the 37th minute, Hernani Félix left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cuiabazinho fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. After a defensive mix-up in Curituba AD's zone, Hernani Félix stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anísio Tavares came out of the goal and Hernani Félix tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nando Teixeira to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Hernani Félix's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anísio Tavares was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. With a little luck, Curituba AD's Anísio Tavares got control of the ball when Oséias Aguiar tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hernani Félix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anísio Tavares having to interfere. Hernani Félix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Anísio Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gonçalo Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nando Teixeira in the 67th minute of play. Oséias Aguiar struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Anísio Tavares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cuiabazinho. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hernani Félix in the 73rd minute of play forced Curituba AD's goalkeeper Anísio Tavares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Oséias Aguiar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Curituba AD's Giovani Pernambucano got a free kick in the 81st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Curituba AD's zone, Hernani Félix stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anísio Tavares came out of the goal and Hernani Félix tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 88th match minute, Curituba AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chicão Netto to maneuver through the defense. In the 94th minute Nando Teixeira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonçalo Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
