A collision led to Patriotas FC getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Armindo de Alcântara hit a great ball. Anísio Tavares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mané Zanette, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anísio Tavares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mané Zanette in the 16th minute. After 19 played minutes Patriotas FC got a freekick which was hit by Rodrigo Magalhães. Anísio Tavares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodrigo Magalhães, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Curituba AD's goalkeeper Anísio Tavares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Doni Varela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 47th minute, Giovani Pernambucano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mané Zanette stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When the match clock showed 54 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Mané Zanette sped through Curituba AD's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Anísio Tavares. After having played for 57 minutes, Rodrigo Magalhães managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Patriotas FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodrigo Magalhães was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Curituba AD's zone, Doni Varela stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anísio Tavares came out of the goal and Doni Varela tried to chip the ball over his head. Cesar Isusko charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cesar Isusko the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 76 played minutes Patriotas FC got a freekick which was hit by Cesar Isusko. Mané Zanette kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Rodrigo Magalhães blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Anísio Tavares having to make a save. Anísio Tavares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mané Zanette's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Doni Varela in the 94th minute of play forced Curituba AD's goalkeeper Anísio Tavares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There was no doubt that Patriotas FC were the better team. Patriotas FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
