William dos Santos came out of the goal and Luís Palmeira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Doni da Silva hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After the first half Rochedo Futebol Clube were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 51st minute Bernardinho Viana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William dos Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Carlinhos Maranhense came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the NZB fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlinhos Maranhense couldn't finish the play. 61 minutes into the game, Betinho Quadros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rochedo Futebol Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave NZB the free kick. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Leonel Macedo took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Nilmar Berger to make any attempt to save it. Leonel Macedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Teodoro de Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Nilmar Berger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 90 played minutes NZB got a freekick which was hit by Eugênio Vasconcelos. A collision led to NZB getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Luís Palmeira hit a great ball. In the 96th minute of the match Nico Pinho sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but William dos Santos skillfully saved the ball. When the final whistle sounded Rochedo Futebol Clube left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than NZB.
