Vítor Souza charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 7th minute, Dida Lima got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Jacupemba's goalkeeper Claudinho Goiano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dida Lima blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Claudinho Goiano having to make a save. Paulo José Peixoto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinho Goiano having to interfere. 14 minutes into the match, Paulo José Peixoto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Claudinho Goiano. Jacupemba's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paulo José Peixoto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Zé da Cunha struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Claudinho Goiano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deces. Dida Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinho Goiano having to interfere. The attack was good, but when Dida Lima in the 28th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo José Peixoto in the 31st minute of play forced Jacupemba's goalkeeper Claudinho Goiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Percival de Medeiros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deces's supporters rose to their feet, but Percival de Medeiros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claudinho Goiano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Paulo José Peixoto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Claudinho Goiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Jacupemba booed when Deces was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Percival de Medeiros didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jacupemba's Claudinho Goiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dida Lima in the 40th minute of play. If Francisco Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claudinho Goiano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Percival de Medeiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dida Lima took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Claudinho Goiano. Claudinho Goiano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After the first half Deces were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Claudinho Goiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo José Peixoto in the 53rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Laerte Penha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deces's supporters rose to their feet, but Laerte Penha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claudinho Goiano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 69 minutes, Percival de Medeiros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deces's supporters crossed their fingers, but Percival de Medeiros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Dida Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claudinho Goiano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dida Lima in the 72nd minute. 74 minutes into the match, Jacupemba's goalkeeper Claudinho Goiano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dida Lima. Zé da Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Claudinho Goiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84th minute, Zé da Cunha fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dida Lima in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claudinho Goiano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Claudinho Goiano made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Percival de Medeiros sent off a good shot on target. In the 89th minute, Laerte Penha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Claudinho Goiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laerte Penha, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. If Percival de Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Laerte Penha managed to get in a good position for a shot.
