Vito Freire showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Carlos da Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Dida Lima was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 22nd minute. Deces's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Fernando Quintal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dida Lima's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. Dida Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Quintal having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Paulo José Peixoto took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Fernando Quintal to make any attempt to save it. Rubinho da Fonseca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 41st minute, Deces's Paulo José Peixoto dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. Dida Lima's late challenge caught a AGUIA DO LESTE's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dida Lima helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of AGUIA DO LESTE booed when Deces was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dida Lima didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vito Freire showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Carlos da Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute.

Fernando Quintal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Percival de Medeiros in the 55th minute of the match. The supporters of Deces booed when AGUIA DO LESTE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Carlos da Rocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 69th minute Paulo José Peixoto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Quintal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 70th minute, Dida Lima got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
