The referee gave Zézinho Matorin a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Sorocaba booed when Red BuLL FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zézinho Matorin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Miguel Arce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Paulo Quaresma tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fernando Ramalho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paulo Quaresma having to make a save. Miguel Arce fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 48th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Miguel Arce made the kick off in the second half. Elias Baiano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vitinho Domingues read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. Válter Tande sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Miguel Arce struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Paulo Quaresma didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Red BuLL FC. In the 94th minute, Fernando Ramalho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sorocaba's Paulo Quaresma proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 98th minute of the match, managed to save Sorocaba from getting a goal against them. Red BuLL FC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
