In the 43rd minute Víktor Araújo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabiano Tróia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Família Futebol Clube's Fabiano Tróia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Umberto de Almeida in the 89th minute of play. José Vítor Nogueira charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed José Vítor Nogueira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lauro da Silva's late challenge caught a Família Futebol Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lauro da Silva helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Gremio Futebol POA FC's Lauro da Silva got a free kick in the 96th minute. Rodrigo Torres in the 98thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Luís Guilherme Ribeiro, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. There was no doubt that Gremio Futebol POA FC were the better team. Gremio Futebol POA FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
