In the 17th minute, Rony Pena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 21st minute of the match Valdomiro Favoretto shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Roberto de Lara showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Aílton Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Roberto de Lara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Baixo FC booed when Oiticica SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Roberto Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mathias Tande to make the kick off. When Serginho Alagoano fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Oiticica SS's protests and gave Serginho Alagoano a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Oiticica SS's Serginho Alagoano got a free kick in the 56th minute. If Lenílson Quintal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Lenílson Quintal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Toninho Faria was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. When Aílton Araújo came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Oiticica SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aílton Araújo couldn't finish the play. After 96 played minutes Baixo FC got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Luiz Barbosa. Oiticica SS's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Francisco Dracena in the 99th minute. Rony Pena was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Baixo FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
