If Francisco Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nilmar Travassos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Willian Barreto came out and tried to block the shot, but Nilmar Travassos slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 17th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nilmar Travassos in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Willian Barreto saved Clube De Regatas Brasil from getting behind. Clube De Regatas Brasil's Willian Barreto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilmar Travassos in the 26th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Sidney Marquez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Valdemar Britto might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dário Velloso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Valdemar Britto ran back to his position shaking his head. Francisco Pires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Genílson das Neves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Willian Barreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valdemar Britto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valdemar Britto to make the kick off. Jampruca SS's Dário Velloso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Jampruca SS from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Nilmar Travassos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Willian Barreto was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. After having played for 64 minutes, Murilo de Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clube De Regatas Brasil's supporters crossed their fingers, but Murilo de Alcântara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 66 minutes into the game, Genílson das Neves cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Willian Barreto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Nilmar Travassos struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Willian Barreto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jampruca SS. Dário Velloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdemar Britto in the 75th minute of play. Nilmar Travassos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Willian Barreto having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Clube De Regatas Brasil's zone, Genílson das Neves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Willian Barreto came out of the goal and Genílson das Neves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Clube De Regatas Brasil's Willian Barreto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nilmar Travassos in the 82nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Genílson das Neves in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Willian Barreto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Genílson das Neves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Nilmar Travassos came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Jampruca SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nilmar Travassos couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Genílson das Neves managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jampruca SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Genílson das Neves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Willian Barreto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Genílson das Neves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th match minute, Jampruca SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caio Vasconcelos to maneuver through the defense.
