Spectators: 7251 (Terracing: 5440, Seating: 1667, VIP seats: 144) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gilmar Arantes started the match with the kick off. With a little luck, Pascoal's Eliseu Aguiar got control of the ball when Andrézinho Vieira tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 6th minute by Andrézinho Vieira got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Gilmar Arantes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Enio Vaz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Enio Vaz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilmar Arantes, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. In the 13th match minute, Puga EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomé Pereira to maneuver through the defense. Flavinho Negri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 16 minutes into the match, Puga EC's goal looked a bit too open when Gilmar Arantes came free, but Enio Vaz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Enio Vaz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafa Travassos in the 18th minute of the match. After having played for 21 minutes, Andrézinho Vieira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Puga EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andrézinho Vieira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 23rd minute, Jerônimo Travassos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gilmar Arantes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Flavinho Negri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gilmar Arantes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Enio Vaz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34th minute, Flavinho Negri left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pascoal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. If Rafa Travassos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pedro Luís Sampaio was the one to do the kick off. Andrézinho Vieira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eliseu Aguiar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Luís Sampaio in the 61st minute of the match. 63 minutes into the match, Pascoal's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Luís Sampaio came free, but Eliseu Aguiar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute, Gilmar Arantes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Evaristo Urbano might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Enio Vaz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Evaristo Urbano ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 73 minutes, Flavinho Negri managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pascoal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Flavinho Negri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eliseu Aguiar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Luís Sampaio in the 78th minute of play. With his leg Enio Vaz managed to avoid a goal in the 81stth minute, when Pascoal's Flavinho Negri fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Pascoal's Flavinho Negri got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Puga EC's Guilherme Magalhães got a free kick in the 94th minute. The Puga EC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Pascoal were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
