The supporters of Guachos EC booed when Azevedo SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mazinho Alves didn't get a good kick on the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Azevedo SS's goal looked a bit too open when Samuca Neto came free, but Raphael Coutinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Guachos EC's goalkeeper Luisão Moraes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Haroldo de Medeiros. Azevedo SS's Raphael Coutinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuca Neto in the 17th minute of play. Luisão Moraes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vítor Pimenta in the 19th minute of the match. In the 21st minute, Samuca Neto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Guachos EC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 25thth minute of the game Samuca Neto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Azevedo SS's Raphael Coutinho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 30 played minutes Azevedo SS got a freekick which was hit by Vivaldo Tande. Marcel Machado charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcel Machado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Azevedo SS getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Marcel Machado hit a great ball. Vítor Pimenta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Raphael Coutinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samuca Neto in the 45th minute of the match. In the 47th minute Vítor Pimenta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisão Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Samuca Neto to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Haroldo de Medeiros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Azevedo SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Haroldo de Medeiros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luisão Moraes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Guachos EC's zone, Haroldo de Medeiros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luisão Moraes came out of the goal and Haroldo de Medeiros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by César Pontes during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. César Pontes hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Haroldo de Medeiros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Samuca Neto in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Raphael Coutinho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Haroldo de Medeiros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luisão Moraes having to interfere. After 65 minutes of play Guachos EC's César Pontes was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Luisão Moraes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vítor Pimenta in the 68th minute of the match. A collision led to Azevedo SS getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Haroldo de Medeiros hit a great ball. Gildo Braga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Raphael Coutinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Haroldo de Medeiros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luisão Moraes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. After 93 minutes, Mazinho Alves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Azevedo SS and the Guachos EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Haroldo de Medeiros came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Azevedo SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Haroldo de Medeiros couldn't finish the play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Guachos EC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
