The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 17 minutes, Alberto Pombal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CRISTO REI DOS REIS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Pombal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Walmir Meira came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the CRISTO REI DOS REIS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Walmir Meira couldn't finish the play. Digo do Vale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Pombal in the 38th minute of the match. Alberto Pombal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 47th match minute, CRISTO REI DOS REIS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Gustavo Romero to maneuver through the defense.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arlindo Madureira was the one to do the kick off. Alberto Pombal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Digo do Vale made a huge save. In the 74th minute, Custódio Barros left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jacarecica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Luiz Gustavo Romero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute.
