Digo do Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmílson Mello, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arlindo Madureira made a kick off. Digo do Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Arlindo Madureira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jacarecica's supporters rose to their feet, but Arlindo Madureira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Durval Bertassi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Atlético do Danone's Durval Bertassi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arlindo Madureira in the 84th minute of play. Edmílson Mello could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Digo do Vale made a huge save. In the 89th minute, Vladimir Mendes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Manfredo Terra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Digo do Vale having to interfere. The Jacarecica supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Atlético do Danone's performance. The match ended with a win for Atlético do Danone.
