To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 8 minutes into the game, Boa Esporte Clube's Doriva de Alcântara nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jefferson Mineiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 20th match minute, Boa Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Vítor Leite to maneuver through the defense. 23 minutes into the match, Lapinha FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tomé Ramalho came free, but Jefferson Mineiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 26 minutes into the game, Boa Esporte Clube's Doriva de Alcântara nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. With a little luck, Boa Esporte Clube's Lino Zonta got control of the ball when Cássio Corrêa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Joélson Vander's late challenge caught a Boa Esporte Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joélson Vander helped the player get up and apologised. In the 44th minute, Joélson Vander hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Boa Esporte Clube's Elano da Silva got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Olavo Varela to make the kick off. Lapinha FC's Jefferson Mineiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Augusto Antunes in the 74th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Lapinha FC's goal looked a bit too open when Doriva de Alcântara came free, but Jefferson Mineiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lapinha FC's Jefferson Mineiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Lapinha FC from getting a goal against them.
