The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 minutes of play, Quebradense's Basílio Pinho made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ismael Penha was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Milonga FC getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Dráuzio Lira hit a great ball. Ismael Penha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Válbson Carioca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ismael Penha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basílio Pinho in the 16th minute of play. After 17 played minutes Milonga FC got a freekick which was hit by Dráuzio Lira. After 21 played minutes Milonga FC got a freekick which was hit by Adriano Lara. Celsinho Teles hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Milonga FC's Mané Cearense got a free kick in the 41st minute. Milonga FC were furious when Celsinho Teles was red carded, 43 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The Milonga FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Quebradense were winning 0-2.

Ismael Penha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Válbson Carioca in the 51st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Quebradense's Carlos Leite got a free kick in the 55th minute. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Quebradense's goalkeeper Luisão Sousa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. José Maria Machado hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 64th minute Basílio Pinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ismael Penha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adriano Lara kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Ismael Penha had great luck who in the 77thth minute grab hold of the ball when Basílio Pinho from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Wágner Andrade made in the 79th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Kiko de Amaral immediately put the ball in play. After 84 minutes, Wilson Gonçalves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Milonga FC and the Quebradense players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Milonga FC getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Wilson Gonçalves hit a great ball. Quebradense's Basílio Pinho got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ismael Penha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basílio Pinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Basílio Pinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 95 minutes into the match, Milonga FC's goal looked a bit too open when Basílio Pinho came free, but Ismael Penha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luís Guilherme Carvalho shot the penalty kick right outside the post. The Quebradense supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Quebradense would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
