Botafogo MZ's Dagoberto Quintal managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Gualter Donato in the 13 minute of the game. When Josué Baiano came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Botafogo MZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Josué Baiano couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Fábio Santana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Botafogo MZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Fábio Santana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emanuel Sabóia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 18 minutes of play, Botafogo MZ's Fábio Santana made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Emanuel Sabóia was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 30th minute Dino Guerra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrianinho Alvarenga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fábio Santana struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Emanuel Sabóia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Botafogo MZ. Adrianinho Alvarenga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Fábio Torres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Adrianinho Alvarenga came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Guaraji's Dino Guerra. But to his dismay, Dino Guerra quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Fábio Santana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Sabóia having to interfere. When Guaraji's Dino Guerra in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Botafogo MZ's goalie prevented a goal. Adrianinho Alvarenga didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dino Guerra went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luís Fábio Torres stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Guaraji booed when Botafogo MZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dagoberto Quintal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fábio Santana scored 2-2 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Emanuel Sabóia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Dagoberto Quintal kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. The supporters of Botafogo MZ booed when Guaraji was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gualter Donato didn't get a good kick on the ball. 66 minutes into the match, Botafogo MZ's Josué Baiano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emanuel Sabóia narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Guaraji's zone, Josué Baiano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emanuel Sabóia came out of the goal and Josué Baiano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 73 played minutes Guaraji got a freekick which was hit by Víktor Hermes. Botafogo MZ's Fábio Santana got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Josué Baiano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Botafogo MZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Josué Baiano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
