The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Eriberto Botelho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Guilherme de Lara in the 9th minute of play forced Lasca Unha F.C.'s goalkeeper Cássio Cruz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eriberto Botelho scored 0-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cássio Cruz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alexsandro Cerezo hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Lasca Unha F.C.'s Cássio Cruz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Guilherme de Lara in the 25th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Valeria FC's zone, Vítor Severo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rony Teles came out of the goal and Vítor Severo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Umberto de Amaral charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Umberto de Amaral the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Umberto de Amaral hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. After 28 played minutes Lasca Unha F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Teodoro de Amaral. Ronaldão Nogueira hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Eriberto Botelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 35 minutes, Luiz Guilherme de Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Valeria FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Guilherme de Lara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cássio Cruz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Guilherme de Lara in the 39th minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, Valeria FC's Eriberto Botelho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cássio Cruz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 41st minute, Luiz Guilherme de Lara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Luiz Guilherme de Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Valeria FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vítor Severo to make the kick off. Eriberto Botelho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Cássio Cruz made a huge save. Valeria FC's Rony Teles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vítor Severo in the 57th minute of play. In the 61st minute, Luiz Guilherme de Lara fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Cássio Cruz, passed just outside the right post. Eriberto Botelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 72 minutes, Luiz Guilherme de Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caio Campidelis kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Vítor Severo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rony Teles having to interfere. Tostão Guimarães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cássio Cruz having to interfere. Caio Campidelis hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. 84 minutes into the match, Valeria FC's Beto Prestes broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When Teodoro de Amaral fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lasca Unha F.C.'s protests and gave Teodoro de Amaral a yellow card for diving instead.
