Felipe Queirós blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Richard Montenegro having to make a save. After 22 minutes, Gino Bertassi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cinzas AD and the FC Genebra players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gino Bertassi kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. 26 minutes into the match, FC Genebra's goal looked a bit too open when Andrézinho Lira came free, but Álvaro Pernambucano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Genebra's Álvaro Pernambucano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save FC Genebra from getting a goal against them. 31 minutes into the game, Cinzas AD's Gino Bertassi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Álvaro Pernambucano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Arnaldo Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richard Montenegro having to interfere. When Gino Bertassi was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 40 minutes had been played. After 41 played minutes Cinzas AD got a freekick which was hit by Gino Bertassi. In the 43rd minute, João Francisco de Castro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cinzas AD's Richard Montenegro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnaldo Oliveira in the 45th minute of play. Richard Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnaldo Oliveira in the 47th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leopoldo Souto was the one to do the kick off. Felipe Queirós could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Richard Montenegro made a huge save. In the 52nd minute, FC Genebra's Felipe Queirós ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Richard Montenegro. Richard Montenegro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Frederico Lopez managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Genebra's supporters rose to their feet, but Frederico Lopez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Richard Montenegro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 58th minute, Cinzas AD's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Arnaldo Oliveira fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 61st minute Frederico Lopez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the FC Genebra defense, Leopoldo Souto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Álvaro Pernambucano. The FC Genebra fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Álvaro Pernambucano should have stopped the shot. Leopoldo Souto took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Álvaro Pernambucano. Álvaro Pernambucano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. If Felipe Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 86 minutes into the match, Leopoldo Souto notched a goal, 5-2, to the right of FC Genebra's Álvaro Pernambucano. Álvaro Pernambucano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Leopoldo Souto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Arnaldo Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
