Piabeta EC's Silas Guimarães got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wilson Schmidt struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Gilson Madureira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mirim Taubate FC. When Wilson Schmidt came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Mirim Taubate FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilson Schmidt couldn't finish the play. Yuri Albuquerque recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Silas Guimarães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Thomás Soeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 21st minute, one of Mirim Taubate FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Mirim Taubate FC. Thomás Soeiro went to the wrong direction when Romário Ferraz was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After 23 minutes, Ademar Rosa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mirim Taubate FC and the Piabeta EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Mirim Taubate FC's Ademar Rosa got a free kick in the 24th minute. When Silas Guimarães came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Piabeta EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Silas Guimarães couldn't finish the play. After 34 played minutes Piabeta EC got a freekick which was hit by Anderson Barbosa. In the 40thth minute of the game Yuri Albuquerque who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mirim Taubate FC's Thomás Soeiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Yuri Albuquerque managed to get in a good position for a shot. Piabeta EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Yuri Albuquerque was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thomás Soeiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pedro Seco was the one to do the kick off. Silas Guimarães was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 54th minute. Piabeta EC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. With his leg Thomás Soeiro managed to avoid a goal in the 59thth minute, when Piabeta EC's Yuri Albuquerque fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Thomás Soeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silas Guimarães in the 61st minute of play. Silas Guimarães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Giovanni Gaspar fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Piabeta EC's protests and gave Giovanni Gaspar a yellow card for diving instead. Giovanni Gaspar hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Gilson Madureira came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Mirim Taubate FC's Pedro Seco. But to his dismay, Pedro Seco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Silas Guimarães might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thomás Soeiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Silas Guimarães ran back to his position shaking his head. Yuri Albuquerque received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Thomás Soeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pedro Seco during the 85th minute. The referee ignored Mirim Taubate FC's protests and gave Dedé Tavares a yellow card for diving instead. In the 96th minute, Dedé Tavares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Silas Guimarães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Mirim Taubate FC were victorious despite being under pressure from Piabeta EC for much of the match.
