When Dudu Mesquita fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CARUARU FULT CLUB's protests and gave Dudu Mesquita a yellow card for diving instead. After 5 played minutes CARUARU FULT CLUB got a freekick which was hit by Dudu Mesquita. Renatinho Schmidt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fred Custódio, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. When Luís Eduardo Mineiro came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the CARUARU FULT CLUB fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Eduardo Mineiro couldn't finish the play. Rubens Gaspar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dudu Mesquita, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Celso Viana kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Rubens Gaspar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Eduardo Mineiro in the 17th minute of the match. Dudu Mesquita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubens Gaspar having to interfere. Luís Eduardo Mineiro succeeded in the game's 21st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dudu Mesquita in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rubens Gaspar saved Morgado from getting behind. If Dudu Mesquita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alexandro Gaúcho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubens Gaspar having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dudu Mesquita was the one to do the kick off. In the 50th match minute, Morgado was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Júlio Meira to maneuver through the defense. Luís Eduardo Mineiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dudu Mesquita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubens Gaspar having to interfere. 58 minutes into the match, CARUARU FULT CLUB's goal looked a bit too open when Percival Travassos came free, but Renatinho Schmidt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to CARUARU FULT CLUB getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Alexandro Gaúcho hit a great ball. In the 61st minute, Antônio de Senna sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and CARUARU FULT CLUB's Renatinho Schmidt didn't even have to move. Luís Eduardo Mineiro struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Rubens Gaspar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CARUARU FULT CLUB. Rubens Gaspar came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by CARUARU FULT CLUB's Dudu Mesquita. But to his dismay, Dudu Mesquita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. In the 70th minute of the match, Dudu Mesquita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Rubens Gaspar was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. CARUARU FULT CLUB's Luís Eduardo Mineiro got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dudu Mesquita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Rubens Gaspar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. During the 89th minute of the match Celso Viana completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Celso Viana a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Morgado's Celso Viana got a free kick in the 90th minute. If Dudu Mesquita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dudu Mesquita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match was over CARUARU FULT CLUB could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Morgado throughout the match.
