Dorival Arósio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 11 minutes into the match, Raúl Paiva had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Juarês da Silveira. ABC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Raúl Paiva was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Arnaldo Vander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sidney Luz kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Marcelinho Silveira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dorival Arósio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Laudja's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raúl Paiva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 33rd minute, Raí de Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Juarês da Silveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnaldo Vander in the 34th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnaldo Vander in the 36th minute of play forced ABC's goalkeeper Juarês da Silveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Laudja's Dorival Arósio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelinho Silveira in the 39th minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Túlio Toledo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arnaldo Vander struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Juarês da Silveira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Laudja.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arnaldo Vander made a kick off. Inácio Moreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dorival Arósio having to interfere. If Arnaldo Vander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Moisés Chaves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dorival Arósio having to interfere. 87 minutes into the match, Marcelinho Silveira dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Dorival Arósio, 1-3. 92 minutes into the game, Raí de Mendonça was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ABC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Laudja the free kick. In the 92nd match minute, ABC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raí de Mendonça to maneuver through the defense. Dorival Arósio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelinho Silveira in the 95th minute of the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched ABC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
