Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gonza Mayen in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. Nildo Alcântara was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 39 minutes, Ronaldinho Neto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Criciuma F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronaldinho Neto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The attack was good, but when Gonza Mayen in the 49th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. After the first half Criciuma F.C were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Nildo Alcântara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gonza Mayen, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. When Gonza Mayen got free in front of the goal in the 78th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Nildo Alcântara was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 79 minutes into the game, Luís Guilherme Vides cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Luís Breckenfeld was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 83 minutes into the match, Calderao's goal looked a bit too open when Gonza Mayen came free, but Nildo Alcântara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Calderao's Zé Roberto Travassos got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 85th minute of the match Gonza Mayen shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nildo Alcântara showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Ronaldinho Neto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle sounded Criciuma F.C left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Calderao.
