In the 9thth minute of the game Cristiano da Costa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Barcelona's Rafinha Leal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 10th minute Dinei Paulista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafinha Leal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dinei Paulista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafinha Leal having to interfere. Cristiano da Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 17th match minute, Barcelona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clóvis Maranhense to maneuver through the defense. Walmir Tepedino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aleandro Peres in the 28th minute of the match. Rafinha Leal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristiano da Costa went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Telmo Alagoano kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Rafinha Leal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristiano da Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rafinha Leal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dinei Paulista in the 44th minute of play. Alfredinho Xavier could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Walmir Tepedino made a huge save. After 48 minutes, Cristiano da Costa made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Barcelona's Rafinha Leal tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The supporters of Quilombo Tomé Nunes booed when Barcelona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clóvis Maranhense didn't get a good kick on the ball. Quilombo Tomé Nunes's Dinei Paulista got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristiano da Costa got free with Rafinha Leal in the 100th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Quilombo Tomé Nunes's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
