In the 6th minute Christian Cardoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Paraense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 8 minutes into the match Abelardo das Neves climbed in front of goal and pressed up 1-0 in the right cross behind a totally surprised Armando Marinho. In the 10th match minute, Buracao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donato Peixoto to maneuver through the defense. João Augusto Botelho's late challenge caught a Buracao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. João Augusto Botelho helped the player get up and apologised. After 16 played minutes Lomba Grande SC got a freekick which was hit by João Augusto Botelho. In the 23rd minute, Edgard Mikelar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Albertinho Quintal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Armando Marinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Cássio Nóbrega fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Buracao's protests and gave Cássio Nóbrega a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Lomba Grande SC booed when Buracao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cássio Nóbrega didn't get a good kick on the ball. Abelardo das Neves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Armando Marinho made a huge save. In the 43rd play minute Abelardo das Neves came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Armando Marinho. 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Christian Cardoso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Buracao! In the 59th minute Albertinho Quintal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Marinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Lomba Grande SC's Rafael Paraense got control of the ball when Raúl Magalhães tried to sneak it across the goal line. Armando Marinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abelardo das Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Armando Marinho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Abelardo das Neves went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. After 75 minutes, Albertinho Quintal made it 5-0 with a short kick to the right side. Buracao's Armando Marinho tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albertinho Quintal in the 81st minute of play forced Buracao's goalkeeper Armando Marinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Buracao's goalkeeper Armando Marinho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
