The supporters of Uberaba SC booed when FC Barcelona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Augusto Vargas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Célio Leme hit a great ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Patrick Quintal was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrick Quintal in the 53rd minute of play forced FC Barcelona's goalkeeper Sebastião Leal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Uberaba SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Barcelona the free kick. In the 67th minute, one of Uberaba SC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Uberaba SC. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Uberaba SC's goalkeeper Túlio Cardozo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ediberto Moura might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sebastião Leal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ediberto Moura ran back to his position shaking his head. 79 minutes into the game, Duarte Gomes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Uberaba SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Barcelona the free kick. Duarte Gomes hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Alexsandro Fernandez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Túlio Cardozo made a huge save. If Ediberto Moura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sebastião Leal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patrick Quintal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sebastião Leal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ediberto Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Uberaba SC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
