Pesqueirao's players were relieved. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 18 minutes into the match, Silas Trigo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sidney Mazza. S. E. Samucos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Silas Trigo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 26 minutes into the match, Pesqueirao's goal looked a bit too open when Abel Barreto came free, but Júlio Nunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sidney Mazza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roberto Abraão, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. A collision led to S. E. Samucos getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Laerte Teles hit a great ball. The supporters of Pesqueirao booed when S. E. Samucos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. The supporters of S. E. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 55th match minute, Pesqueirao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silas Trigo to maneuver through the defense. In the 56th minute, Abel Barreto sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Pesqueirao's Júlio Nunes didn't even have to move. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kiko Saraiva in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Júlio Nunes saved Pesqueirao from getting behind. 59 minutes into the match, S. E. Samucos's goalkeeper Sidney Mazza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dino Madureira. In the 60th minute Roberto Abraão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sidney Mazza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 64 minutes of play, S. E. Samucos's Kiko Saraiva made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Júlio Nunes was left in no man's land by his defense there! With an all-out effort, Pesqueirao's Sidney Mazza threw himself towards the right post 67 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Roberto Abraão, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 68 minutes into the game, Manfredo Faustino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. S. E. Samucos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pesqueirao the free kick. In the 68th minute, Manfredo Faustino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pesqueirao's Júlio Nunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kiko Saraiva in the 71st minute of play. With an all-out effort, Pesqueirao's Sidney Mazza threw himself towards the right post 76 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Roberto Abraão, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Kiko Saraiva put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Júlio Nunes. During the 85th minute of the match Manfredo Faustino completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Manfredo Faustino a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game.
