After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Roberto Abraão managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pesqueirao's supporters rose to their feet, but Roberto Abraão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Natã Negri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Júlio Nunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Luís Ribeiro in the 18th minute of play. Pesqueirao's Júlio Nunes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Pesqueirao from getting a goal against them. 24 minutes into the match, Caranapatuba's Pedro Luís Ribeiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Júlio Nunes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Pedro Luís Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 27 minutes into the game, Caranapatuba's Elano Silveira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Júlio Nunes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After 31 minutes, Roberto Abraão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pesqueirao and the Caranapatuba players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Caranapatuba booed when Pesqueirao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roberto Abraão didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th minute, Elano Silveira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Felippe do Nascimento's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Natã Negri read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. When Pedro Luís Ribeiro came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Caranapatuba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Luís Ribeiro couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Roberto Abraão made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Caranapatuba's goal looked a bit too open when Roberto Abraão came free, but Natã Negri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Júlio Nunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elano Silveira in the 55th minute of play. Natã Negri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roberto Abraão in the 57th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Pesqueirao's William Vaz got a free kick in the 58th minute. Romeu Urbano, 60 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 64 minutes into the game, Roberto Abraão cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Natã Negri was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Felippe do Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 74th minute, Marco Palmeira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roberto Abraão in the 76th minute of play forced Caranapatuba's goalkeeper Natã Negri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Alberto Lopes charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carlos Alberto Lopes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 80 played minutes Pesqueirao got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Alberto Lopes. Romeu Urbano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Pesqueirao's goalkeeper Júlio Nunes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 87 minutes into the match, Pesqueirao's goal looked a bit too open when Elano Silveira came free, but Júlio Nunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88th minute, Silas Trigo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Elano Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caranapatuba's supporters rose to their feet, but Elano Silveira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pesqueirao's Júlio Nunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Luís Ribeiro in the 92nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Caranapatuba's zone, Roberto Abraão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Natã Negri came out of the goal and Roberto Abraão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
