Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Guarapua's Agenor Veiga started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agenor Veiga in the 6th minute of play forced C.E. Mergulhão's goalkeeper Fausto Meireles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Agenor Simões showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Luís Tasso, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Agenor Simões took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Quirino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 11 minutes into the match, Guarapua's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Luís Tasso came free, but Agenor Simões reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 12 minutes, Pedro Luís Tasso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.E. Mergulhão's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro Luís Tasso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fausto Meireles was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Joaquim Ferraz. Gildo da Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Agenor Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Pedro Luís Tasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to C.E. Mergulhão getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Armandinho Cordeiro hit a great ball. 28 minutes into the game, Walmir Magalhães was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guarapua's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C.E. Mergulhão the free kick. After a rather tough play, Guarapua's Walmir Magalhães got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 30th minute, Walmir Magalhães hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 31 minutes into the game, C.E. Mergulhão's José Quirino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Agenor Simões made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 34 minutes into the match, Guarapua's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Luís Tasso came free, but Agenor Simões reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Armandinho Cordeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 40 minutes into the match, C.E. Mergulhão's goalkeeper Fausto Meireles had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Walmir Magalhães. 44 minutes into the game, Pedro Luís Tasso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Agenor Simões was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pedro Luís Tasso to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 62nd minute, C.E. Mergulhão's José Quirino dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. Guarapua's Agenor Simões proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Guarapua from getting a goal against them. Agenor Simões didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pedro Luís Tasso went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-4 was the resulting score. If Pedro Luís Tasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Luís Tasso in the 76thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Agenor Simões, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 80th minute of the match Joaquim Ferraz sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fausto Meireles skillfully saved the ball. 82 minutes into the match, C.E. Mergulhão's Pedro Luís Tasso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Agenor Simões narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Pedro Luís Tasso came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the C.E. Mergulhão fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Luís Tasso couldn't finish the play. In the 89th minute, Agenor Veiga ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fausto Meireles was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-4. After 93 played minutes Guarapua got a freekick which was hit by Walmir Magalhães. C.E. Mergulhão's attack was well implemented in the 94th minute, but when Pedro Luís Tasso was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. C.E. Mergulhão's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
