When Ezequiel Rosado came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Sao Paolo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ezequiel Rosado couldn't finish the play. Vicente Messias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enéas da Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Ezequiel Rosado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 28th match minute, Ibatui AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Umberto Gonçalves to maneuver through the defense. Nilmar Pinheiro kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Ibatui AD's Umberto Gonçalves got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jaime do Vale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Vicente Messias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vicente Messias didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ezequiel Rosado went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 1-1 became the score in the 41st minute when Rogério Loureiro elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Rogério Loureiro received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nico Carioca came out and tried to block the shot, but Rogério Loureiro slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 45th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Maurinho Trevisan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Ibatui AD's Mateus Brodel got a free kick in the 53rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jaime do Vale got free with Vicente Messias in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 57 minutes into the game, Enéas da Rocha recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vicente Messias. Enéas da Rocha showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. In the 66th minute, Nilmar Pinheiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 67th minute, Maurinho Trevisan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Sao Paolo FC booed when Ibatui AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cássio Botelho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rogério Loureiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st minute, Sao Paolo FC's Andrés Maraschin dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. When the match was over Sao Paolo FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Ibatui AD throughout the match.
