César Senna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sidney Tande, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. 22 minutes in the game, Gilvan Vidal fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Fred Valle having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Quixatu's zone, Armindo Pinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fred Valle came out of the goal and Armindo Pinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Nando de Castro came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the LerickFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nando de Castro couldn't finish the play. When Armindo Pinho came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the LerickFC fans jumped to their feet. Nando de Castro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 38th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fred Valle. Quixatu's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulysses Fernandez in the 68th minute of play forced LerickFC's goalkeeper César Senna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. LerickFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mané Rodrigues was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fred Valle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. LerickFC's Nando de Castro got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mané Rodrigues in the 80th minute of play forced Quixatu's goalkeeper Fred Valle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sidney Tande got free with César Senna in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 84 minutes into the match, Quixatu's goal looked a bit too open when Mané Rodrigues came free, but Fred Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 85th minute LerickFC were awarded a corner. Gilvan Vidal went to the cornerflag to take it. When Armindo Pinho came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the LerickFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Armindo Pinho couldn't finish the play. Ulysses Cosme recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. LerickFC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
