But to his dismay, Sérgio Vergílio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Simão Quintal during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 10th minute, Simão Quintal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sérgio Vergílio got free with Tião Rezende in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Miguel Romero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Miguel Romero in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tião Rezende saved Serrito from getting behind. In a very dangerous position, a player in Serrito fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 30th minute. Penalty! In the 32nd minute, Kauan Queiroz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Baraiada fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Romero in the 37th minute of play forced Serrito's goalkeeper Tião Rezende to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sérgio Vergílio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tião Rezende having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Romero in the 48th minute of play forced Serrito's goalkeeper Tião Rezende to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Serrito's Tião Rezende played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Romero in the 53rd minute of play. In the 53rd match minute, Serrito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Paulo Urbano to maneuver through the defense. Tião Rezende showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Romero, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. 56 minutes into the game, Sérgio Vergílio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Tião Rezende was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luís Gustavo Varela's late challenge caught a Baraiada's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luís Gustavo Varela helped the player get up and apologised. 62 minutes into the game, one of Serrito:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 64th minute there was a penalty for Baraiada. Kauan Queiroz stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Tião Rezende. 4-0. Luiz Fabiano Trigo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Wilian Guerra took a quick shot and it went in 4-1 without a chance for Luiz Fabiano Trigo to make any attempt to save it. In the 88th minute Sérgio Vergílio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tião Rezende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tião Rezende took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Romero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rodolfo Campidelis hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. In the 94th minute Miguel Romero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tião Rezende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 94 minutes, Rodolfo Campidelis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Serrito and the Baraiada players grew even worse after the yellow card.
