But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reinaldo da Fonseca couldn't finish the play. Through an outstanding action, after 18 minutes, Nicolas Santana successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Reinaldo da Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Nicolas Santana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marco Ferreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Erivaldo Marquez to make the kick off. Reinaldo da Fonseca might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nicolas Santana. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Reinaldo da Fonseca ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 64th match minute, Cabo Frio FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucio Hodei to maneuver through the defense. Cabo Frio FC's Marco Ferreira got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marco Ferreira scored 2-0 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nicolas Santana, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Tape EC's zone, Marco Ferreira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicolas Santana came out of the goal and Marco Ferreira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Marco Ferreira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nicolas Santana was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. Marco Ferreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicolas Santana having to interfere. 88 minutes into the game, Cabo Frio FC's Reinaldo da Fonseca nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nicolas Santana made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Nicolas Santana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reinaldo da Fonseca in the 93rd minute of play. Nicolas Santana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Ferreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
