In the 31st minute Luisinho Gaspar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquim Recife saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Olavo Araújo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Belmiro Munhoz in the 34th minute. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tadeu de Sousa to strike the kick off in the second half. The attack was good, but when Tadeu de Sousa in the 54th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Leonel Gerber charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leonel Gerber the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 58th match minute, CRUZEIRO-DF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonel Gerber to maneuver through the defense. When Belmiro Munhoz came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the CRUZEIRO-DF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Belmiro Munhoz couldn't finish the play. Olavo Araújo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Belmiro Munhoz, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Olavo Araújo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tadeu de Sousa in the 74th minute of the match. In the 78th minute, Belmiro Munhoz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Olavo Araújo was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Tadeu de Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Olavo Araújo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Belmiro Munhoz struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Olavo Araújo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CRUZEIRO-DF. After 87 minutes, Cássio Berger mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CLUBE ATLETICO PIRITUBANO and the CRUZEIRO-DF players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tadeu de Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. CRUZEIRO-DF's Tadeu de Sousa got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. CLUBE ATLETICO PIRITUBANO's Olavo Araújo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Belmiro Munhoz in the 97th minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. CRUZEIRO-DF had played much better football throughout.
