Spectators: 6652 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1652, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Dário Faustino started the match with the kick off. Vânderson Rossi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Dário Faustino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes into the match, Vânderson Rossi notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Potengi's Orlando Félix. Orlando Félix was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Oséias Paiva could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Durvalino Marquez made a huge save. Orlando Félix took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dário Faustino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Atibaia's Durvalino Marquez got control of the ball when Oséias Paiva tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Dário Faustino came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Atibaia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dário Faustino couldn't finish the play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Potengi fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 39th minute. Penalty! Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dito Pirani to strike the kick off in the second half. Dário Faustino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 53 minutes into the match, Potengi's goalkeeper Orlando Félix had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vânderson Rossi. Orlando Félix made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dário Faustino in the 55th minute of play. After having played for 60 minutes, Oséias Paiva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Potengi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oséias Paiva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 61 minutes into the game, Atibaia's Vânderson Rossi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Orlando Félix made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Dito Pirani recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Potengi's Oséias Paiva got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Amauri Vides fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Potengi's protests and gave Amauri Vides a yellow card for diving instead. Amauri Vides kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Potengi's zone, Vânderson Rossi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Orlando Félix came out of the goal and Vânderson Rossi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Atibaia's Dário Faustino in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Potengi's goalie prevented a goal. During the 94th minute of the match Amauri Vides completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Amauri Vides a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 95th match minute, Potengi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amauri Vides to maneuver through the defense. After 96 played minutes Potengi got a freekick which was hit by Juan Salles. After 97 played minutes, Atibaia's Rafael Ramalho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Orlando Félix came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Atibaia reached it. Atibaia's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
