After a rather tough play, Lazurra's Ricardo Vale got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Estacao's Perivaldo Capixaba got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Perivaldo Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Perivaldo Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 14 minutes, João Carlos Meira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Estacao and the Lazurra players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 15th minute, João Carlos Meira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Estacao's goalkeeper Kiko Brodel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Perivaldo Montenegro kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 24thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Estacao's keeper Kiko Brodel was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. If Perivaldo Capixaba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Estacao's Kiko Brodel got control of the ball when Perivaldo Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Amílton Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cléber Ribeiro in the 32nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cléber Ribeiro in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Amílton Santos saved Lazurra from getting behind. Perivaldo Capixaba's late challenge caught a Lazurra's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Perivaldo Capixaba helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Lazurra booed when Estacao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Perivaldo Capixaba didn't get a good kick on the ball. Amílton Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Carlos Meira in the 45th minute of play. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cléber Ribeiro to strike the kick off in the second half. Washington Quirino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Amílton Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kiko Brodel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arlindo Peres in the 54th minute of play. Lazurra's Amílton Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cléber Ribeiro in the 56th minute of play. After 57 played minutes Lazurra got a freekick which was hit by Ricardo Vale. After a rather tough play, Estacao's Armando Vianna got a free kick in the 60th minute. Perivaldo Capixaba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amílton Santos having to interfere. When Arlindo Peres came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Lazurra fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arlindo Peres couldn't finish the play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Lazurra fans cheered their team off the field, for while Estacao had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
