Itaquerense's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Douglas Donatello was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After the first half Operário EC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lúcio Andrade to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Lúcio Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot. Operário EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Lúcio Andrade was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Igor Castro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Umberto Passos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 77th minute, Itaquerense's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Umberto Passos fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Igor Castro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
