Luiz Fernando Tavares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Silvério Palmeira went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Adhemar Simões made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Fabiano Barros in the 20th minute of play. In the 21st match minute, F.C. Barcelona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvério Palmeira to maneuver through the defense. Cauã Mesquita kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Rafinha Esteves hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. When Vicente Gerber fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored F.C. Barcelona's protests and gave Vicente Gerber a yellow card for diving instead. F.C. Barcelona's Adhemar Simões played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdir Vidal in the 38th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Liberdade Futebol Clube's Valdir Vidal got a free kick in the 41st minute. In the 43rd match minute, F.C. Barcelona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vicente Gerber to maneuver through the defense.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vicente Gerber was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, F.C. Barcelona's Frédson Catarinense got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Luiz Fernando Tavares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silvério Palmeira in the 56th minute of the match. Adhemar Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 64 played minutes F.C. Barcelona got a freekick which was hit by Erivaldo do Valle. When Erivaldo do Valle fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored F.C. Barcelona's protests and gave Erivaldo do Valle a yellow card for diving instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luiz Fabiano Barros in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adhemar Simões saved F.C. Barcelona from getting behind. After some careless play in the F.C. Barcelona defense, Valdir Vidal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Adhemar Simões. The F.C. Barcelona fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Adhemar Simões should have stopped the shot. Sílvio Luís Dante's late challenge caught a F.C. Barcelona's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sílvio Luís Dante helped the player get up and apologised. After 86 played minutes Liberdade Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Luís Dante. Adhemar Simões made an important save on a dangerous shot by Valdir Vidal in the 90th minute. Silvério Palmeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. F.C. Barcelona were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Liberdade Futebol Clube to leave the ground with a draw.
