A collision led to Escurinho EC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Zé Carlos Peixoto hit a great ball. Dida Carioca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardinho Tasso in the 31st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gilson Valadares got free with Rodrigo Souto in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 35th minute, Luizinho Alves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With 38 minutes on the clock, Zé Carlos Furlan commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 37th minute, one of Diabos Vermelhos:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Diabos Vermelhos. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bernardinho Tasso in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dida Carioca prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bernardinho Tasso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Dida Carioca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Antônio Paulista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gilson Valadares to strike the kick off in the second half. Bernardinho Tasso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice moves Antônio Paulista could shoot a difficult shot in the 54th minute, which Dida Carioca however easily saved by the left post. In the 56thth minute of the game Bernardinho Tasso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Diabos Vermelhos's Dida Carioca was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Diabos Vermelhos's Dino Fontes got a free kick in the 56th minute. Escurinho EC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Zé Carlos Peixoto in the 59th minute. A nice corner shot did that Zé Carlos Peixoto got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dida Carioca quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 60 played minutes Diabos Vermelhos got a freekick which was hit by Dinei Senna. Escurinho EC's Bernardinho Tasso was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 67th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Dida Carioca came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Escurinho EC's Antônio Paulista. But to his dismay, Antônio Paulista quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. If Bernardinho Tasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antônio Paulista could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Dida Carioca made a huge save. Antônio Paulista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bernardinho Tasso in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dida Carioca prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Geovânio Brito hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. 89 minutes into the match, Diabos Vermelhos's goalkeeper Dida Carioca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antônio Paulista. Gilson Valadares struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Rodrigo Souto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Diabos Vermelhos. Antônio Paulista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Dida Carioca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Antônio Paulista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
