Gilson Hermes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manoel Marques, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the game, Délio das Neves cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Nuno Neto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Chester City getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Renato Pitta hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Antunes in the 36th minute of play forced Chester City's goalkeeper Nuno Neto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Manoel Marques sped through Benjamin's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gilson Hermes. Renato Pitta took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 46th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gilson Hermes. Benjamin's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Manoel Marques was the one to do the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Manoel Marques kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gilson Hermes. That made the score 2-3 in the 60 minute of play. A hard shot by Dagoberto Tavares from long distance, 64 minutes into the match, got Gilson Hermes's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 65th minute of the match Renato Pitta sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gilson Hermes skillfully saved the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Manoel Marques in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilson Hermes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dagoberto Tavares took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 71st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gilson Hermes. Benjamin's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 74th minute, Diego Mesquita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nuno Neto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Délio das Neves in the 76th minute of play. A collision led to Benjamin getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Luís Gustavo Meirelles hit a great ball. Benjamin's Gilson Hermes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Alberto Luz in the 80th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Benjamin's Diego Mesquita got a free kick in the 80th minute. In the 83rd minute Armando Antunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nuno Neto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manoel Marques could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Gilson Hermes made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Chester City's Luiz Loureiro got a free kick in the 90th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Armando Antunes in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nuno Neto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Manoel Marquess short, quick shot in the 95thth minute got Gilson Hermes to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The Benjamin fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Chester City were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
