A very good chance. 16 minutes into the game, one of Indaiatuba:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Cabofriense's Claudinei de Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristiano Proença in the 21st minute of play. The audience was convinced that Bernardino Mano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Baltazar da Silveira was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. When Cristiano Proença came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Indaiatuba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristiano Proença couldn't finish the play. Jefferson Gaúcho's late challenge caught a Indaiatuba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Paulo Secco lost his temper 36 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee gave Indaiatuba a penalty, 39 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Célio Rossi, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Cabofriense's Claudinei de Azevedo. 1-1. 42 minutes into the match, Cabofriense's Bernardino Mano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Baltazar da Silveira narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
