Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nicolas da Fonseca started the match with the kick off. Nicolas da Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Benjamim Valadares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maurinho Paranaense took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 28th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Reginaldo Reis. After a defensive mix-up in Novo Ciclo's zone, Guga Sergipano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reginaldo Reis came out of the goal and Guga Sergipano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hudson Moura made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fred Rossi in the 35th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Fred Rossi fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Reginaldo Reis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjamim Valadares in the 42nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Novo Ciclo's Valdemar Pinheiro got a free kick in the 45th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Benjamim Valadares made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Ramiro de Amorim left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Counani fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Nicolas da Fonseca might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hudson Moura. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nicolas da Fonseca ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Novo Ciclo getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Vágner Meira hit a great ball. In the 98th minute Ramiro de Amorim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reginaldo Reis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Counani players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
