When Walmyr de Lara fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Flanimais's protests and gave Walmyr de Lara a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Flanimais fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 3rd minute. Penalty! Flanimais:s Anselmo da Mata showed great skill when he stopped Doni Almeida:s penalty. 4 minutes into the match, Doni Almeida notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Flanimais's Anselmo da Mata. Anselmo da Mata was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Doni Almeida came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Diogo SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Doni Almeida couldn't finish the play. Raimundo Matos succeeded in the game's 13th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. When Diogo SC's Doni Almeida in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Flanimais's goalie prevented a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Doni Almeida in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anselmo da Mata saved Flanimais from getting behind. If Benê Guimarães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vicente Favoretto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raimundo Matos in the 28th minute of play. In the 31st minute of the match Diogo SC got a corner. Flanimais's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Doni Almeida ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 32nd match minute, Flanimais was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cícero Pombal to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Doni Almeida in the 34th minute of play forced Flanimais's goalkeeper Anselmo da Mata to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nildo Perez struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Anselmo da Mata didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Diogo SC. Diogo SC's Doni Almeida got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 39 minutes into the match, Flanimais's goal looked a bit too open when Doni Almeida came free, but Anselmo da Mata reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Flanimais's Anselmo da Mata played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Doni Almeida in the 43rd minute of play. In the 44th minute, Nildo Perez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Anselmo da Mata showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doni Almeida in the 47th minute of the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Raimundo Matos to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Chico Fernandez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 56 minutes into the match, Flanimais's Victor Baiano broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Eliseu Vaz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Doni Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 63 minutes into the game, Cícero Pombal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Vicente Favoretto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 67 minutes into the match, Flanimais's goal looked a bit too open when Nildo Perez came free, but Anselmo da Mata reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Doni Almeida who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 84thth minute tested the skills of Anselmo da Mata when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Doni Almeida received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Anselmo da Mata tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anselmo da Mata was a little too slow when Nildo Perez got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 87th minute. The score was now 2-3. Flanimais's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Benê Guimarães 93 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-4. Diogo SC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
