After 7 played minutes, Inglesa SS's Luís Fabiano Queirós shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Adelino de Sousa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Inglesa SS reached it. Conrado Santana recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 10th match minute, Canca EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ademar de Andrade to maneuver through the defense. After 11 played minutes, Inglesa SS's Paulo Porto shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Adelino de Sousa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. Canca EC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Paulo Porto ran over to the corner to take the kick. Hugo Veiga kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Nilton Trigo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Adelino de Sousa was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. In the 34th minute, Nilton Trigo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Adelino de Sousa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After having played for 38 minutes, Conrado Santana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Inglesa SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Conrado Santana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adelino de Sousa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nilton Trigo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paulo José de Amaral stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tales Trancoso got free with Adelino de Sousa in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 57th minute, Inglesa SS's Jairo Cearense dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. After a defensive mix-up in Canca EC's zone, Nilton Trigo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adelino de Sousa came out of the goal and Nilton Trigo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Canca EC's Adelino de Sousa got control of the ball when Conrado Santana tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 62 played minutes Canca EC got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Veiga. In the 64th minute, Conrado Santana fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. With his leg Adelino de Sousa managed to avoid a goal in the 65thth minute, when Inglesa SS's Jairo Cearense fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Tales Trancoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Adelino de Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Inglesa SS booed when Canca EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Veiga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Inglesa SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Conrado Santana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adelino de Sousa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Adelino de Sousa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nilton Trigo in the 83rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Conrado Santana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Inglesa SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Conrado Santana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adelino de Sousa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Adelino de Sousa made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Jairo Cearense sent off a good shot on target. Nilton Trigo took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adelino de Sousa. Adelino de Sousa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. When Jarbas Velloso fell near the penalty area in the 98th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Canca EC's protests and gave Jarbas Velloso a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Canca EC's Jarbas Velloso got a free kick in the 98th minute. Inglesa SS's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
