Gonçalo de Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Percival Coelho, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Cruzeirinho's goal looked a bit too open when Evaristo Gomes came free, but Gonçalo de Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Percival Coelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Júlio Albuquerque during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gonçalo de Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evaristo Gomes in the 30th minute of play. When the match clock showed 39 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Percival Coelho sped through Cruzeirinho's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gonçalo de Amorim. Gonçalo de Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elano Amorim in the 49th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Evaristo Gomes was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hélio Baiano in the 61st minute of play forced Alexandre's goalkeeper Sílvio Luís de Lara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 62nd minute, Elano Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 69 minutes into the match, Alexandre's goal looked a bit too open when Hélio Baiano came free, but Sílvio Luís de Lara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Márcio Rocha came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Cruzeirinho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Márcio Rocha couldn't finish the play. Hélio Baiano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sílvio Luís de Lara read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Percival Coelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Percival Coelho struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Gonçalo de Amorim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alexandre. Elano Amorim recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hélio Baiano might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sílvio Luís de Lara. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hélio Baiano ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 95th minute Júlio Albuquerque suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. Gil Koehler charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gil Koehler the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 96th minute, Gil Koehler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
